The Academic Network ”Estudios para la Ciudad” and the university’s branch in Quito invite people to take part in a meeting titled “Ciudades para la Gente” or Cities for people on September 28th. The aim of this meeting is to discuss research regarding issues in the city and work together towards the international Habitat III conference in Quito.

The academic network is made by eleven Ecuadorian universities. Its aim is to create academic spaces that transcend through a stance of knowledge management of science in the city, creating a network of local researchers.

During this year there have been several meetings in universities in order to visualize lines and potentials through panels, research experiences and exhibitions.

UPS will be the host of this meeting, where there will be photographic exhibition of research and research groups, and sale of books from the Abya Yala Publishing House. They will also present the fourth volume of the collection “Ciudades para la gente” titled “Ciudades populares en disputa”
