“Women’s right to a life free of violence”

The local sustainable development undergraduate program and the projects: “Woman”, co-financed by women from New York and Chicago, and “Mujeres con Voz”, co-financed by the European Union and implemented by CARE and ACDemocracia, invite you to take part in the continuing education course: “Women’s right to a life free of violence”.
 
The aim of the course is to strengthen knowledge and develop competencies for citizen participation and demand the right to a life free of violence.
 
The course will be held from September 1st to November 30th with a constructivist pedagogical approach.
 
The course will be divided into the following topics:
 
- Identify roles, stereotypes and the gender system
 
- Recognize the characteristics of violence against women, both in the public and private scope
 
- To know the basic principles of women’s human rights, as well as the national and international regulations for the protection, guarantee and restitution of the right to a life free of violence.
 
- Understand the importance of participation and social control of civil society and identify the mechanisms of citizen participation for the exercise and enforceability of women's human rights.
 
The course is aimed at leaders of social organizations, municipality workers, students and professors. 
 
Registration will be from August 17th – 30th. Participants will get an email with their username and access to the virtual course.
