The university's training center located in Cayambe awarded 21 participants a four year license for having successfully ended the course on the prevention of electrical hazards. This course was held thanks to the accreditation by the Safety and Hygiene Committee and the agreement signed between UPS and the Electrical and Electronic Association from Pichincha.

The 60 hour course was divided into three parts related to occupational safety and health, prevention of electrical risks, first aid and rescue techniques. Participants learned about hygiene and environmental norms under quality standards demanded by the country's productive sectors. To end the course participants took a final exam.

The closing ceremony was attended by Jose Juncosa, the vice president of UPS's branch campus in Quito, Carlos Padilla, in charge of certifications, Narcisa Requelme, in charge of community involvement and Carolina Moya, in charge of continuing education.
