Tutoring program for the 2017 - 2018 period

The university's branch campus in Cuenca inaugurated a new edition of its program titled "Tutoring, Salesian Style" for this new semester. A program in which students from upper levels will be in charge of tutoring students from lower levels who need to reinforce knowledge of fundamental areas of their undergraduate programs.

During the opening ceremony, Cesar Vasquez, the vice president of UPS's branch campus in Cuenca, spoke about the importance of this tutoring program and said it is very important for the holistic development of university education. Xavier Merchan, coordinator of the project was in charge of talking about and explaining the project to attendees. 

Some of the tutors presented the results of the previous tutoring programs. The students who will act as tutors this semester are: Paúl Esteban Barros, Julio Barros, Carlos Carrillo, Felipe Coronel, Xavier Pesantez, Cristhian Sanmartín, Erika Zamora.

About 250 students attended to learn more about the program. Members of the salesian group "Student helpers" will also work to help other students; the members of this group are: Joselyn Armijos, Karina Asanza, Jessica Cachimuel, Pedro Cordero, Esteban Delgado, Pedro Faican, Mayra Fajardo, Glenda Guamán, Carlos Guartatanga, Pablo Jara, María Mayancela, Mateo Mendieta, Pablo Mosquera, Christian Palta, Diego Pinguil, Rodrigo Pinto, Ricardo Sánchez, Richard Tixi, Francisco Yazbek, Jordy Zhigüi, Zumba, Fernando Zumba
