Dwayne Mitchell, Canadian producer, editor and cameraman who is passionate about softball, visited the Centenario Campus in Universidad Politecnica Salesiana's branch in Guayaquil, to talk about his experience with students majoring in communication.

Mitchell loves softball and this is what brought him to Guayaquil with his wife Tracy, who is the coach of the "Thunder Surrey" (Canada) women's softball team. Tracy has been working with the Ecuadorian Federation of Softball for three years, and leads the national team. One day when Tracy was being interviewed by UPS students, Dwayne was interested in learning more about the work of UPS.

Thanks to one of the university's community involvement programs with "Liga del Sur" Foundation and the "Club Deportivo Alto Rendimiento", every day twelve students majoring in Communication can attend both centers to provide their expertise in development plans that are being carried out by both sports institutions.

Thanks to conversations with Liga del Sur officials, last May 10 Mitchell was welcomed by UPS professor Tonny Montoya; Mitchell was able to share his experiences in a talk with students during the Sports Journalism class.

Dwayne Mitchell told students that when he was 14 he started studying photography and then moved on to television production. He worked as a cameraman before he bought his own equipment and started working independently to cover events for channels such as TSN, ESPN and others.

Dwayne took a tour around the university's multimedia laboratories and said that they will work on a project for the university and his production company
