The university's robotics club and the electronic engineering major in Guayaquil held a seminar titled "Introduction to robotics and industrial automation".

The aim was to encourage students to use tech tools for the design of robotic applications and industrial automation. "This there's been great participation from electronic engineering students", said Byron Lima, coordinator of the robotics club.

The topics were the following:

-    Introduction to ARDUINO, a platform for free software and hardware for programming applications

-    Introduction to SOLIDWORKS, a software for mechanical design and structural analysis

-    Introduction to LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 for learning robotics.

"Students from the robotics club were in charge of teaching each class and therefore we were able to measure their knowledge", said Byron Lima.
