The university's branch in Cuenca began the induction courses for new students who signed up for one of the university's undergraduate majors for the September 2016 – February 2017 semester.

A special ceremony was held in the university theater where the university's main officials, faculty directors and professors attended. The acting vice president in Cuenca, Lorena Cañizares, welcomed everyone to the ceremony and then introduced each of the faculty directors, she also asked everyone to be an active part of the university and to feel at home.

Julio Loja, who is in charge of admissions, gave students some general information about the course. After the ceremony students were taken to their classrooms to begin the induction courses which will end on August 5th and then begin again on August 29th and definitely finish on September 9th.
