On December 3rd the "Soledad Rodriguez Leon" Foundation, located in Duran, held a closing ceremony for the university's community involvement project titled ""Workshops to strengthen administrative management in the fields of marketing, basic accounting and leadership".

The aim of the project, led by business administration students and professors, was to provide people with technical tools and knowledge so they can start their own business.

"We are working on new proposals in order to continue helping people from the foundation and this sector", said Nicolas Zumba, person in charge of the project.

Some of the topics during the two month course were:

-    Basic taxation
-    How to manage a business?
-    Customer service, and others

For Glenda Torres who attended the course, it is important that the university is concerned about vulnerable sectors and that they help improve the quality of life people. "These courses are really good, especially for mothers who are looking for a real motivation to start their own business", she said.
