UPS, UTPL and FDA sign an agreement for training sessions on ethical values and principles

Universidad Politecnica Salesiana, the UNESCO chairs program on Ethics and Society in Higher Education from Universidad Tecnica Particular de Loja (UTPL) and the Federación Deportiva del Azuay (FDA) signed a tripartite agreement to design and execute a training program on values and ethical principles for all the FDA staff.

The agreement was signed by UPS president Javier Herran Gomez, the administrador of FDA Ivan Cobos and the director of the UNESCO chairs program on Ethics and Society in Higher Education from UTPL Juan Morales. The signing was witnessed by Miriam Ramon, president of FDA and Cecilia Andrade, from UTPL.

Ivan Cobos said it is very important that these two higher education institutions, UPS and UTPL, have gotten together to sign this agreement with FDA; the aim is to strengthen ethics in sports and citizens.

Father Javier Herran Gomez, President of UPS, said he was pleased with this strategic alliance which will surely benefit everyone. He also that institutions should always get together and have agreements like this in order to encourage the progress of citizens.

Finally, Juan Morales, director of the UNESCO chairs program on Ethics and Society in Higher Education from UTPL, said the agreement demonstrates that academia and sports can work together on projects that benefit citizens.

The aims of the agreement are to:

-    Carry out research and training processes in the FDA in order to strengthen ethics in sports

-    Execute and design a training program on values and ethical principles for all the staff at FDA in order to strengthen the institution.

-    Design and execute an academic research project about ethical values in FDA in order to create a scientific document to be published in an indexed journal.
