Communication and politics from young people's perspective

In order to have spaces to analyze, participate and critically reflect about our country's current situation, the university's Utopia magazine organized a talk titled "Youth, Communication and Politics". 

The aim of the program was to exchange ideas about young people's immersion in politics. The speakers were Ever Moreira, political activist, Andrés Santos, president of the students' federation at Universidad de Guayaquil, and university professors Javier Guerrero, Bismark Arana and Stalyn Paz.  

"Young people are the ones who really build the future, these topics help them have a more general vision of the country they would like to have without any actual propaganda for an specific political party", said Betty Rodas, editor of Utopia magazine.

The event was organized by students who part of the Utopia salesian group. "Our country is going through an important political moment and we considered this to be an important topic in order to share ideas, experiences and criteria with students from different high schools and the overall public", said David Castillo, coordinator of the group in Guayaquil. 

This talk is related to topic in issue 97 of the magazine, whose topic is "Youth and Politics". According to the yearly plan, this year there will be four editions. "We invite all students who like writing to be part of Utopia", said Carlos Castillo, assistant of Utopia. 

On the other hand the editor of the magazine said that one of their projects this year is "Utopia on line", which will constantly be updated. At the end of the talk, attendees were awarded an attendance certificate.
