UPS professor Augusto Rodriguez was honored by the Casa de la Cultura nucleo de Guayas with a mention of excellence during the national competition of literature titled "David Ledesma Vasquez". The event is held every year with the participation of writers nationwide, it awards writers in different categories.

On this occasion the topic of the event was poetry, and Rodriguez was honored for his poem titled "El libro perdido de la dinastía Tang". "It is always positive to receive public recognition for your work. In this case the awards from the Casa de la Cultura nucleo del Guayas are very relevant and have lots of background.

Rodriguez also said that next month he will present his book "El hombre que amaba los hospitales" in Chile. The book contains drama and fiction stories. "The book will be published by the Chilean Publishing House RiL Ediciones", he said.

Furthermore, there will be a presentation about a project on poetry and literature in a Latin American meeting aimed at poetry education for Chile with the support of the Municipality of Chiguayante in Concepción. 

This activity shows UPS's cultural and literary support to the community through its community involvement projects.
