On June 16th, the university's Coworking StartUPS office in Guayaquil and the research department held a workshop titled "Creativity Tools" which was aimed at professors- mentors from the university. The aim of the workshop was to encourage the development of a research and innovation ecosystem that strengthens students' skills and their personal development in the university.

The workshop, which provided participants specific techniques to develop creative ideas, was held based on one of the university's objectives: to create a research group on mentoring that can develop projects through professor-student relationships. "The mentors, students and professors, will replicate the innovation and creativity process that UPS has been carrying out for two years", said Juan Pablo Salgado, Head of Research.

The topics of the event were:

-    The conception we have about a mentoring school in the university

-    How can university students join these innovation and research groups?

-    How can we accompany and create a process of mentoring?

-    Planning activities from creativity.

The instructors were: Belen Soriano, Antonio Perez Torres, Juan Miguel Morales, Germania Karolys Gutierrez and Marcos Millan, who led group activities to generate ideas that could improve companionship with mentoring during students' innovation process.

"It's an important contribution from professors to guide students in their entrepreneurial projects", said Marcos Millan, professor in UPS's branch in Guayaquil.

The workshop was also held in Quito on June 21st and will be held in Cuenca on June 30th.
