The university's branch campus in Quito, "Sur" campus, inaugurated its new laboratories of mechanical and environmental engineering. The laboratories will be used by students from both undergraduate programs and other programs that may require the use of these laboratories. 

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING:  

• Metallography

• Fluid mechanics

• Thermodynamics

• Heat transfer

• Mechanical Forming

• Nondestructive tests

• Material resistance

ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING:   

• Hydraulics   

During the event they also inaugurated the new spaces of the Document Management area, located in building G. José Juncosa, vice president of UPS's branch in Quito; William Ladino, Head of Document Management; Marino Erazo, acting director of mechanical engineering and Karina Pazmiño, director of Environmental Engineering attended the event. Special guests included representatives of Consejo de Educación Superior (CES), Universidad Central del Ecuador (UC), Universidad de las Fuerzas Armadas (ESPE),  Universidad Tecnológica Equinoccial (UTE), de la Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja (UTPL).

The UPS document management system involves a database management program with the technology to handle academic, institutional or administrative documents; which makes it possible to organize, monitor and give timely responses to internal and external procedures. "Over 22 years of UPS history, more than 100,000 students have been in our classrooms, along with their files, records, documents of teachers, administrators, resolutions, etc. The document management file seeks to order these bases and work together with the branches in Cuenca and Guayaquil to make it an organized and efficient process, "said the vice president

Later, Father Patricio Lopez blessed the people who will use these spaces and encouraged them to work in harmony and always give a warm service. 

The place for receiving documents in Quito is building A in "El Girón" campus and in the information area of the campus.
