Software Engineering and Knowledge Engineering Research Group - GIISIC

The Software Engineering and Knowledge Engineering Research Group (GIISIC for its acronym in Spanish) aims to produce significant changes in software production by SMEs in the city of Guayaquil. The use of software in all areas is undeniable, business, communications, the world of entertainment, government, social entities, etc., all use software in different areas and for different purposes, therefore the idea of a world without software today it is inconceivable.

Guayaquil is a city that depends on small and medium-sized companies to a great extent, which is why the creation of SMEs must be promoted through strategies that help attain this goal. Improvement of processes is of great help for organizations, since it helps detect errors and then improve them, and therefore remain in a continuous cycle of improvement. Although the growth of software development in our context is increasing, there is still a large gap between the software production of SMEs and large software development companies.
