Twenty nine representatives in charge of communication in Salesian Inpectorates from Antillas, Argentina, Brazil, Boliva, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Domenican Republic, Ecuador, USA, Italy, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay met in Quito to take part in the 2017 Continental Meeting of Communication Representatives.

On September 13th, UPS hosted two training sessions on specific topics as part of the activities organized by the Salesian Inspectorate in Ecuador from the 10th to the 14th September.

The first talk titled "Big data, efficient management of social networks" was led by Andrea De Santis (web editor), Edisson Quintuña (data base administrator) and Santiago Castro (programmer). Participants learned about the usefulness of big data and its analysis in communication activities carried out by institutions. The opportunity to know the characteristics, behavior and actions of the audience represents an advantage that enables people to effectively plan the message to be communicated.

The second talk was titled "Audiovisual and hypermedia production", where the representatives were divided into five areas of production: visual, sound, audiovisual, hypermedia and editorial.

After four hours of hard work, there was a meeting where participants were able to discuss their ideas, criteria and thoughts on this event. Professor Armando Cuichan, coordinator of the workshops, said the aim was that the representatives use the knowledge they have acquired by creating creative products.

The following professors were in charge of this event: Carlos Martínez, David Lasso and Cristina Naranjo (video); Roberto Rosero and Daniela Moya (editorial); Alexandra Noboa (photography); Pablo Terán, Jezabel Calero, José Luis Bedón and Armando Grijalva (radio); Esteban Plaza and Armando Cuichán (hypermedia).
