The new university's branch campus in Guayaquil, the "Maria Auxiliadora" campus, was the place where university officials held the second edition of the camp titled "ReCreate", an event which seeks to develop students' entrepreneurial skills.

On November 11th and 12th more than 100 students took part in the event organized by "Coworking StartUPS". The students attended talks on entrepreneurship and workshops, some of the topics were:

- Dynamics of networking

- Canvas business model

- Analysis of the entrepreneur profile

These topics were led by Fabian Bermeo, facilitator, Bence Matyás, professor in the university's branch campus in Quito, and Diana Medina, founder of the "A LA U" platform. They provided attendees the tools needed to solve problems and create ideas, "We analyzed global challenges in several issues and then put them into our national and local context so that participants can create solutions", said Bermeo.

To finish the event students made a pitch of their idea on how they would solve some of the problems that were identified sooner in the event. There was a lot of creativity and innovation in all the ideas that were presented.

The winning project was titled SYGCOM, an application that helps the deaf-mute to communicate. The winners were awarded a BEUPS sweatshirt, a direct invitation to the national "Rethos" Bootcamp and a course on creative tools.

"This was a great experience where we learned ICTs to create our own innovative projects" said Madeleine Pico, a communication student and winner of the competition.

Fabian Bermeo invited students from the university's three branch campuses to be alert of the next camps, "UPS has been carrying out these events for some time now in order to develop competencies for future professionals", he said.
