2016 CONFINTEA Scholarships – UNESCO Lifelong Learning Institute

UNESCO invites people to participate in the 2016 CONFINTEA Scholarship program which are part of the activities fostered by the Institute for Lifelong learning. 

The 2016 CONFINTEA program will award six scholarships for a period of one month (October 2016) to government officials and civil society representatives that work in key positions in the field of Adult Learning Education.

Requirements to be eligible for the scholarship:

  • Have broad experience in the government, in civil society or in adult learning education
  • Participate in the creation of policies regarding planning and implementation of programs nationwide (having participated in national activities related to CONFINTEA VI  (would be preferable)
  • Have excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Be fluent in spoken and written English, ideal if the person knows another language used in UNESCO (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian)

Applicants must present the following documentation:

  • A written proposal about a national strategy in the field of education for adults (ALE) that covers at least one specific aspect of the Marco de Acción de Belém (up to 3 pages)
  •  Updated curriculum vitae
  •    Letter of presentation

UNESCO’s Institute for Lifelong learning will organize and pay health insurance, an economy class ticket to Hamburg and accommodation near the institute. A fixed sum of money to cover living expenses and other expenses will be paid upon arrival.
