The environmental engineering major in Cuenca invites you to take part in the First International Symposium on the Environment: Ionizing Radiation and its Effects, which will take place from the 16th to the 20th January, 2017.

The aim of this event is to encourage the study and the applications of ionizing radiation of natural origin, which will enable people to monitor and mitigate possible risks for human beings. There is also a proposal to report the use of radioactive sources in environmental studies, teranostica and industrial applications.

Another aim is to disseminate advanced knowledge, results and innovations in dosimetry and radiation protection, with special emphasis on sources of natural origin (water, soil, building materials, fertilizers, food, and others), as well as the adequate use of radioactive sources and possible causes of accidents and primary actions.
