The aim of the major is to educate Automotive Mechanical Engineers with human and academic excellence, capable of meeting current and future challenges with solid knowledge and practical skills; skills that are  fundamental for the design, analysis, operation and optimization of supervision, mechanical maintenance, electronic and electrical automobiles, vehicle control, research, organization, management of automotive centers, and automotive development

- Automotive Engineers that provide advice to public and private institutions on the control of environmental pollution generated by automobiles
 
- Automotive Engineers who contribute in the study and development of projects, mitigation and control of environmental pollution generated by the automotive sector. 
 
- Automotive Engineers who execute projects related to the implementation of systematic action plans to fight against the causes of air pollution and improve air quality. 
 
- Automotive Engineers who work in private or public institutions that accredit, evaluate and control the active, passive and tertiary safety of cargo and passenger transport vehicles, both imported and assembled in the country.
 
- Automotive Engineers that provide advice to public and private institutions in the general regulations for the Application of the Organic Law of Land Transportation, Traffic and Road Safety. 
 
- Automotive Engineers who contribute in the study and development of projects on the reliability requirements of mechanical, electrical and electronic systems.

- Automotive Engineers who develop projects that are part of the Strategic Plan of the Ministry of Transport and Public Works in reference to Public Policies and Sector Strategies. 
 
- Automotive Engineers technical advisors that promote the development of technical and scientific knowledge of transport in matters of safety, quality, connectivity and accessibility in accordance with specifications and standards that regulate the sector. 
 
- Automotive Engineers who contribute in the study and development of projects related to the increase in national added value, especially in the automotive sector, incorporating more local components in the assembly processes.
