In May 2018, Universidad Politecnica Salesiana will inaugurate a new campus where they expect to have around 2,000 new students.

The new campus has about 11 hectares where students can study business administration, accounting and auditing, psychology and environmental engineering. There will also be four postgraduate programs that have already been approved by the Higher Education Council.

UPS President Javier Herran believes this is an opportunity for expansion and growth. The university will offer its programs to high school students in the new area.

The investment in this new campus, which belonged to the Maria Auxiliadora High School, seeks to make various adjustments such as the installation of fiber optics for the Internet network, new laboratory equipment, the remodeling of classrooms and basic services. It is worth noting that the location of the new campus is in constant urban growth since there are several educational institutions, shopping centers and government entities. "It is a growing area of the city where they have built new houses, private neighborhoods and shopping centers.

There are more than a dozen schools and there is no large university," said Andrés Bayolo, vice president of UPS's branch campus in Guayaquil.

At present, the university's branch campus in Guayaquil registers 7,800 students in its "Centenario" Campus, the creation of this new campus will allow young people to have new study options for their professional training.
