The GIETAES group ended its Summer Tutoring Program

The university's group titled "Educational innovation in salesian style academic tutoring"(GIETAES) ended classes that were held for candidates to one of UPS's undergraduate programs for the September 2017 – February 2018 period.

The aim of these classes were to guide and support students during their new experience in the university. Seven tutors prepared about 400 students so they can discover and adapt to the new university environment.

At the end of the course, UPS president Javier Herran, encouraged students to finish their studies by being perseverant and overcoming challenges on the way.

Cesar Vasquez, vice president of UPS's branch campus in Cuenca, encouraged students to not be afraid in class and show their potential. He talked about the importance of attending these classes and encouraged students to take advantage of the support provided by the university.

Xavier Merchan, director of the Pastoral Department, said the aim of these classes were to help new students reinforce certain knowledge.
