UPS named a new head of postgraduate programs

The Superior Council of Universidad Politecnica Salesiana named Diego Peñaloza Rivera the Head of Post graduate programs. He took oath before UPS president Javier Herran, who wished him the best.
 
Diego Peñaloza thanked the university officials for their trust and said he would do his best to comply with his new functions which he recognized are of great responsibility for the university community and society. 
 
Jorge Diego Peñaloza Rivera, is an electric engineer who holds a higher degree in Higher Education Assesment  and a Master's degree in Information Technologies. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Engineering, Control and Optimization in Universidad de Piura (Peru). He has worked at UPS since 1997 when he worked as a professor in several faculties. 
 
He will be the head of postgraduate programs for the 2017 – 2022 period and will focus on three main objectives:
 
- Academically and administratively manage the current postgraduate programs
 
- Present proposals for new postgraduate programs
 
- Work alongside the academic coordinators of the university's three branches in programming, controlling and evaluating the academic process of postgraduate programs. 
 
The university is currently preparing its new postgraduate programs in business administration, education, telematics, cultural management, electronics and automation which will begin in upcoming months in Cuenca, Quito and Guayaquil.
