On December 15th, the university's branch campus in Guayaquil presented four new books written by UPS students and professors.

The vice president of the university's branch campus in Guayaquil, Andres Bayolo, highlighted the work carried by professors, "a university professor develops skills to share his knowledge with his/her students, therefore I am sure that the professors who are presenting these books today have included their experience and transmit their best knowledge to students."

The books were:

- El Desarrollo Social y Entornos empresariales en Ecuador

- Análisis descriptivo de procesos industriales en ingeniería industrial

- Investigaciones sobre ingeniería de software

- El libro negro

The first book was written and coordinated by Fabián Villacrés and María Alexandra Chávez Pullas, directors of Business Administration and Accounting and Auditing, respectively. It is a compilation of the research presented at the Meeting of Accounting and Business Administration Sciences 2016. "This book invites us, through its research, to rethink with a critical vision about environments and economic contexts, tributaries of genders, social and productive relations," said Duniesky Alfonso Caveda, methodological and academic director of Ecotec University.

The second book, written and coordinated by Pablo Parra Rosero, addresses fundamental issues such as clean production, waste treatment, occupational hazards, process control and use of raw materials. The book was written, by UPS professors and student, in an IEEE scientific writing format with the purpose of contributing to the research community at a national and international level. "This work is the first work that reflects the results of research in Industrial Engineering in the university's branch campus in Guayaquil." The last article of this text was presented at an international congress and in the month of January it will be indexed in Scopus," said the author of the book.

The third book written by Shirley Coque, Lohana Lema and Miguel Arcos seeks to raise awareness of aspects that involve hosting methodologies for software development addressing issues such as process management through attitudinal models, Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) ) and algorithms as an alternative to optimize processes in industries and reduce costs significantly. "The software industry is constantly growing globally, in Ecuador it has not been exploited entirely, but there are advances in terms of development and work to be able to implement processes that allow the advancement of knowledge," said Antonio Cevallos, during the presentation.

The fourth book is a personal anthology of professor Augusto Rodríguez who collected literary fragments from 2003 to 2013. "This book invites us to take a break in life and reflect on many aspects," said Cristian Torres , during the presentation.
