Cabell's International now indexes UPS journals

Since the month of January the university's journals re being indexed to Cabell's international, a well appreciated and selective directory within the global academic community due to its precise and up to date information on academic publications of more than 750 universities around the world.

The incorporation of the journals Alteridad, Ingenius, La Granja, Retos, Sophia and Universitas demonstrate the good practices in the university in recent years in order to index its journals in the world's most important data bases.

Kathleen Berryman, representative of Cabell's International, was thankful with the University for having participated and meeting the requirements needed to be part of this institution.
Cabell's International offers an important service to the academic community through its categorization of magazines in whitelist and blacklist: the former identifies more than 11,000 journals in 18 scientific disciplines, connecting researchers, librarians and administrators to verified and reputable publications, even taking into account the data obtained from Altmetric (alternative metrics).

While the black list refers to misleading academic journals, analyzed on the basis of objectivity and transparency, in which specialists from this directory submit to a comprehensive analysis consisting of 60 behavioral indicators to keep the community aware of the increasing threats and to keep the investigators protected from fraudulent operations.
The university's 6 journals are part of Cabell's white list; Alteridad, Ingenius, La Granja, Retos, Sophia and Universitas are protected by Cabell's, which legitimizes the good practices that have been applied during this years.
