Students from the management and leadership undergraduate program organized a forum titled "Political changes and leadership in Ecuador's current situation". The aim was to analyze the role of young leadership groups in Ecuador.

Professor Ricardo Carillo, coordinator of this event, said it is necessary to have these events in the university, "we are a community of stakeholders where thoughts are created" he said.
The speakers were: Isabel Ramos, from FLACSO; Hannath Valladares, from the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Foundation, Cristian Franco, from colectivos de izquierdas, René Unda, UPS professor; Daniel Torres and Felipe Ogaz, activist for the city's rights, and Pabel Muñoz.assemblyman for the province of Pichincha.

Muñoz said that youth leadership can be understood as a space for representation. "It is important to do politics, we have to work in society more than in the State. In this situation we can think about how to find a new leadership," he said.

Professor Unda spoke about the fact that after a decade of Rafael Correa's government, the sociopolitical dynamic seems to have entered a phase of changes that would constitute the gateway to a new political cycle. His paper provided explanatory elements on the different positions adopted by the youth associations with which the Research Group on Children, Adolescents and Youth (CINAJ), develops a research on political participation in Ecuador focused on forms of activism and youth leaderships.

Jaime Piedra, student representative, spoke about the importance of educating leaders who feel commited to the country and work for its develoment. "We are here to improve our knowledge and have better tools. Our biggest challenge is to have a more human society that can change political, social, economic and cultural structures based on people", he said.
