Professors and students receive Cambridge certificates

78 people, professors and students, in the university's branch campus in Quito were awarded the Cambridge international certificates for levels A1, A2, B1 and C1 which accredits their knowledge in English. 

Adriana Guanuche, coordinator of the university's language institute in Quito, said that "since 2016 a total of 123 certificates have been awarded in Quito and this accredits people's knowledge of English in our academic community".

Moreover, Cristian Vasquez, representative of Cambridge in Ecuador, awarded UPS the authorization to use its logo and congratulated them for carrying out this program which benefits both students and professors. 

The ceremony was presided by UPS president Javier Herran, the head of research, Juan Pablo Salgado; the acting president of the university's branch campus in Quito, Sebastian Granda; the coordinator of the language institute, Adriana Guanuche; and the Cambridge representative, Cristian Vasquez. 

These international certificates also enable students to apply to postgraduate studies and is a requirement to graduate from an undergraduate program according to the Higher Education Council. 

UPS has agreement with Cambridge University and during the first week of June the fourth group of UPS students and professors, as well as the external public, will be able to take the exams.
