University officials welcomed fifty three students to the university's intercultural residence located in the south of Quito. The ceremony began with mass celebrated by Father Fransisco Sanchez, Father Angel Lazo and Father Maffeo Panteghini.

Father Fransisco recalled the importance of following the call of God and of being happy by responding to the dreams of young people, to their desire to be someone in life and accompany them in the development of the gifts that God has given them. "This house of Don Bosco is responding to that call. You are privileged and you have to value it with study," he said.

José Juncosa, vice president of the university's branch campus in Quito, asked the students to reinforce the commitment with their people and communities, which are not only professionals but leaders where they are most needed

6 students in the residence are about to graduate and 47 are still studying the following undergraduate programs: business administration, biotechnology, communication, computing, communication, accounting, electronics, management and leadership, civil engineering, mechanics, mechatronics, pedagogy and psychology.

The intercultural residence is a project of Universidad Politecnica Salesiana that began in 2011 to support indigenous students in their studies.
