The "Taky Urku" music and dance festival

In the university's last "Cultural Friday" program, it presented a dance show of traditional music "Taky Urku", where there were over 50 dancers from the "Wayrapamushkas" and "Tumipampa" dance groups from Universidad de Cuenca, as well as the "Pumapungo" music group from our university's branch campus in Cuenca. 

The event began with a talk from UPS president Javier Herran, who highlighted the organization of the festival and the preparation of all the performers. The show started with the presentation of the "Wayrapamushkas" group, directed by Paola Guzman. They danced to the following choreographies: La fiesta de mi pueblo, un tango y una chacarera argentina, la danza del venado, dualidad andina and caporal boliviano.  

The next presenation was from the "Tumipampa" group who danced to choreographies from the Ecuadorian and Bolivian Andean region.
