Students and professors from the university's branch campus in Quito celebrated Biotechnology Day with several seminars and the presentation of academic posters.

These events were attended by Jose Juncosa, vice president of the university's branch campus in Quito, and Diana Calero, director of the biotechnology undergraduate program. They asked students to use the resources the university provides to carry out research, the laboratories for example. "Our results are not due to individual efforts, they are due to joint work", said Jose Juncosa.

The keynote speech was given by Elizabeth Minda Aluisa, from Instituto de Investigación en Salud Pública y Zoonosis de la Universidad Central del Ecuador, who spoke about the study of taeniasis / cisticercosis.
