PROSOLITO Project was carried out in Guayaquil's detention center

On September 6th, there was a closing ceremony for the seminar on basic computer tools held in Guayaquil's detention center and organized by the systems engineering major at UPS-Guayaquil. The seminar was held thanks to inter-institutional agreement between UPS and Guayaquil's detention center.

The aim of the project was for prisoners to learn some professional competencies that will later help them get a job, as well as having them use their time efficiently; this is an act that was started by Don Bosco.

Before starting the PROSOLITO Project, the systems engineering major first implemented the RECIKIT project in order to get and then configure 3 recycled computers that were later donated to the detention center. These and other computers were used to train the prisoners on computer tools that they could use for their business ventures.

Fabián Recalde Neira, director of the detention center, and Paolo Cedeño Molina, education coordinator thanked the university and the systems engineering students for their work.
The people involved in the Project were: Cristhian Pangay, Oliver Rodriguez, Génesis Contreras, Edison de la Cruz and Bryan Fiallos.

The professors who helped were: Juan Andrade, Dario Huilcapi,Nelson Mora and Alice Naranjo S.

The attendees thanked the organizing institutions and asked them to continuously hold these type of projects which greatly benefit this sector.
