Civil engineering and Emergency and Disaster Management are two new programs in Cuenca

This semester our main branch campus in Cuenca will have two new undergraduate programs, Civil engineering and Emergency and Disaster Management. 

The directors of the programs will Juan Carpio for Civil engineering and Cristian Diaz for Emergency and Disaster Management. "In Azuay, Cañar, Morona Santiago and Loja there is great demand for these programs and we have now managed to offer them and prepare professionals in this field", said Cesar Vasquez, vice president of the university's campus in Cuenca. 

Juan Carpío said "in Quito this program has been available for 10 years. We will prepare professionals the seek communities' well-being while also constructing."

Cristian Diaz explained the importance of preparing professionals in risk management because "we should have contingency plans and be prepared for any natural disaster".
There are currently 100 students who have registered in the programs. Registration is still open in the university's website or in the campus secretary.
