The Centro de Apoyo para la Inclusión (CAI) (Support Center for Inclusion) in the university's branch campus in Guayaquil and the associations who are members of the Academic Network of Support and Research on Inclusive Technologies, celebrated the International Day of People with Disability by holding an artistic festival where the protagonists were people with disabilities.

The institutions that participated were:

• Unidad Educativa Lidia Dean de Henriquez (SERLI)   

• Unidad Educativa Especializada Nuestra Señora del Carmen de Ricaurte   

• Fundación sin Barreras (FUNSIBA)   

• Grupo de Danza NAYARAQ     

Mothers of children from the Unidad Educativa Lidia Dean de Henriquez were pleased with the folk dances. "All the presentations were great", said Naranjo.

In the Maria Auxiliadora campus there was wheelchair rugby with the participation of Club Yaguares and Fundacion Margarita Enderton. 

International Day of People with Disability was declared by the UN in 1992 and seeks to promote the rights and wellbeing of people with disabilities, as well as create awareness in society.
