Students and professors, 56 in all, from our branch campus in Quito were awarded Cambridge proficiency English certificates during an event organized by the English language institute.

Students were awarded certificates in the following levels: KET (basic user), PET (independent user) and FCE (high intermediate). The certificates are proof of students' ability to use English according to the common European framework.

The ceremony was attended by Jose Juncosa, vice president of the univesity's branch campus in Quito; Adriana Guanuche, coordinator of the language institute; Julia Watson and Cristian Vasquez, representatives of Cambridge Ecuador, and Alex Escobar from Education First.

"The university is committed to fostering the use of English in the university community. We want English to be used in the classrooms", said Juncosa.

Finally, Julia Watson said "we represent Cambridge University, whose mission is to spread knowledge, research and academic development worldwide through the use of English. Today we can see the results of our work."
