In order to keep its academic quality and improve learning processes, the university has purchased new technological equipment for the telecommunications laboratory:

- Mounting systems for communications in fiber optic networks type WDM and GPON, generation sources in C and L band; launching coils, fiber filler and spectrum analyzer.

- Training systems for satellite and microwave communications (LVDAM-MW) for analog and digital modulations

- Software Defined Radio Devices (SDR-USRP) for wireless communications and Programmable Gate Matrices (FPGA) for digital signal processing in communications systems

- Equipment for monitoring and generating traffic for the real-time evaluation of data and communications network designs (Networking).

- Laboratory measuring instruments such as high-speed oscilloscopes for signal analysis in communication systems and a vector analyzer for measuring broadband or extended spectrum fast signals.

- Field measurement instruments for the analysis of the frequency spectrum in digital and analogue television systems.

Walter Orozco, director of the telecommunications undergraduate program, said "the new equipment increases the university's technological capacity for its students and professors in order to provide better conditions for academic and research activities."
