To commemorate International Women's Day, the university and GIZ Germany (Corporation for International Cooperation) awarded 148 participants a certificate for taking part in the virtual course: "University, free of violence against women".

The aim of the course was to develop strategies to prevent violence, to use theoretical tools to prevent violence.

The closing ceremony was attended by Jose Juncosa, vice president of the university's branch campus in Quito; Christine Brendel, director of PreviMujer GIZ; Viviana Maldonado, national coordinator of PreviMujer GIZ; Nancy Bastidas, director of community engagement and Jairo Montesdeoca, representative of the HR department of the university.

Brendel thanked the university and expressed her commitment to continue working for a more equitable and equal society. She announced that the university will participate in the national study on violence prevention in Ecuadorian universities and invites attendees to be part of the campaign titled "mujeres sin violencia, así gana el Ecuador".

Gabriela Yanez, participant with the highest grades received a special recognition.
