As part of the campaign for sustainable development being held in the university's branch campus in Quito, officials presented the book titled "Gestión ambiental en la empresa mediante la norma ISO 14001 2015" (Environmental Management in companies through ISO 14001 2015) written by Miguel Araque, Estefanía Avilés, Pamela Castro, Michelle Vásconez, Freddy Cuarán, Diana García and Diana Álvarez.

Jose Juncosa, vice president of the university's branch campus in Quito congratulated the authors and said the university is a place that contributes to the community and generates knowledge and research.

"A book should summon us to interrupt the natural order of things, increase entropy in search of new mental arrangements, of proposals and projects, of creative and technical ways of planning, doing, verifying and improving, these are the four fundamental pillars the book focuses on", said Karina Pazmiño, director of the Environmental Engineering undergraduate program.

Jaime Castellanos, professor of Civil Engineering and commentator of the book, stated that the book is very useful for students because it is accurate, detailed and appropriate for teaching, this being a goal of the university's educational process.

Finally, Professor Araque, one of the authors noted that "Each chapter has been conceived through a logical sequence, addressing the theme from the first empirical researchers such as Leonardo Da Vinci, who found this natural resource to be an instrument to discover the world and serve others, even the current researchers whose ingenuity continues to promote and encourage the creative and innovative use of environmental management in the company" He also pointed out that this research will allow to increase awareness of those who are already immersed, involved and amazed in this world of science.
