The university held a special ceremony for 108 professors and administrative staff to award them recognitions for having worked in the university for 10, 15, 20 and 25 years.

The ceremony was presided by the university president, Javier Herran; the vice president of the university's branch campus in Quito, Jose Juncosa; the president of the workers association in Quito, Daniela Garcia; and Lizeth Castillo and Angel Aguaguiña, representatives of the administrative staff. "Thank you very much for your commitment, creativity and hard work which have made this university better", said Jose Juncosa. 

Daniela Garcia said "this ceremony recognizes the effort and dedication of each one of the workers, by working together we will reach all the university's goals". Finally, Javier Herran congratulated all the workers. "the university is in your hands, continue working for the students of this university".
