Students from our branch campus in Guayaquil who are majoring in psychology are part of campaign "Tengo Fe" (I have faith) which was presented by the institute of neurosciences. Students have to work with the patients in the institute.

This activity seeks to create awareness about the abandonment of people with mental diseases, find ways to reduce this problem, as well as strengthen students' salesian charisma.

Students were able to actually use the knowledge they have learned in their classrooms and strengthen their professional skills as future psychologists. "About 50 students are currently part of this activity, they have planned their schedules well enough to attend class and come to the institute", said Orlando Bustamente, professor and the coordinator of the project.

For Rebeca Paredes, a student, this has been a very gratifying experience because it combines theory and practice. "These activities give us an insight of what our profession is really like. People in the institute have been very friendly, they just need to feel more motivated", she said
