The university improved 281 positions in the Webometrics ranking of world universities; a worldwide ranking which evaluates the performance of universities on the internet.

Universidad Politecnica Salesiana (UPS) is currently ranked 2712 worldwide and 7th in Ecuador. This information, published in July, enabled UPS to be ranked among the top 200 universities in Latin America ranking 174th in the region.

The web ranking is based on the qualification of four indicators that evaluate different aspects of university work and their projection in the virtual environment. The indicator of greatest relevance in the ranking for this edition is IMPACT which measures the visibility of the university portal on the Internet, UPS improved 16 positions to 4605 worldwide.

Regarding the openness indicator, which measures the number of citations in Google Scholar of the 100 best researchers associated with UPS, we are ranked 2647, improving 745 positions worldwide.

As for the EXCELLENCE indicator, which analyzes the quality and acceptance of scientific production, UPS improved 351 positions and is now ranked 3240. In PRESENCE, the university remains within the 221 best universities.

The ranking evaluates the usability, relevance and web management of UPS, which is the result of hard work between several departments and the scientific production generated by our teachers and researchers.
