A journal and a book for papers written by high school students

In our branch campus in Cuenca, university officials presented the second edition of the journal " Youth and Science: the path to research" as well as the book "Academic Reflections", they both have a collection of scientific articles written by students from Los Andes and Tecnico Salesiana high schools, and some written by professors.

Luis Tobar, general vice president of the university, spoke highly of the participation and capability of high school students in writing the articles. 

"During the last few years research and its results have been considered fundamental to evaluate the quality and development of society, as well as the quality of education institutions", said Cesar Vasquez, vice president of our branch campus in Cuenca.

During the presentation of the book "Reflexiones Académicas: Acción – Reflexión – Acción", Jorge Altamirano, professor in our branch campus in Cuenca, said the university constantly seeks new educational models that strengthen quality education.

Ana Isabel Andrade, student of Tecnico Salesiano high school spoke about her experience in scientific writing and was pleased to be part of this project which has enabled her and her classmates to write a paper.

Matias Orellana, student of Los Andes high school, also talked about his experience of being part of his high school's electronics and programming project. Matias and his classmates Carlos Argudo and Carlos Patiño created a project for first and second grade children, they developed a gamer keyboard for a Mario bros game. At the end of the ceremony, the authors were given special recognitions
