The occupational psychology undergraduate program and the department that monitors graduates from our university held a talk titled "Disabilities in Organizations". The aim of this talk was to reflect on the importance of getting people with disabilities involved in companies.

The talk was attended by Mario Pacheco, representative of the Ecuadorian Social Security Institute; Priscila Esquivel, from FENEDIF; and Gilberto Brito, a professor of our university and the moderator of this talk.

The talked focused on the importance of inclusion of people with disabilities, Pacheco spoke about how the 2008 constitution states personal guarantees for people with disabilities and reforms in the Employment Code which facilitates people with disabilities to find a job. All this is important because it allows them to be part of everyday working life.

Esquivel spoke about equal rights and opportunities for people with disabilities; he highlighted the importance of taking these people's needs and skills into account. Knowing people's skills will enable employers to give them the right job.
