Our branch campus in Guayaquil held its "Cultural Wednesday" program and presented the university's theater group "Katharsis" as well as theater groups from Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL) and Escuela de Formación de Artistas (EFA).

The "Katharsis" theater group presented the play "La Gallina del Convento", ESPOL presented "El Mono de Chongón" and EFA the play titled "Qué Flojera"; 3 plays that used comedy to represent people's daily activities. "We plan to hold a university theater festival and with the participation of several institutions, we want to make it a nationwide event", said Gabriel Gallardo, director of the UPS Katharsis theater group. 

The aim of the Wednesday Cultural program is to encourage, disseminate, maintain and appreciate national and international art. It encourages the participation of universities and other educational institutions that promote art.
