The "Rhinos UPS" rugby team won the "B" category tournament

The men's rugby team "Rhinos UPS" from our branch campus in Quito won the National Rugby Tournament in the "B" category. The tournament was held in Quito between June and September; five teams took part of this competition.

The team played a total of six games; their last game was against "Tzantza Rugby", who they defeated 90 -7. "We trained hard for all the games and we were able to win the tournament", said Gabriel Javita, team captain. For the coach, Alvaro Martinez, the support of the university and the hard work of players (students) were fundamental to win the championship. The team is now preparing to advance to the "A" category. 

The "Rhinos UPS" rugby team was created in October 2017. The players are: Heinert Albán, César Almeida, Cristian Ampuero, Cristian Analuisa, Luis Ante, Carlos Aulestia, Anthony  Camacho, Mateo Castillo, Marcos Cevallos, Brandon De La Torre, Mario Díaz, Bernardo Jaramillo, Gabriel Játiva, Juan Lapo, Danny Llumiquinga, Jerson López, Gabriel Macas, Michael Mejía, Rodrigo Morales, Edison Nenger, Marcos Ola, Kevin Pacheco, Ricardo Páez ,Orlando  Paillacho, Darwin Quesada, Esteban Rameix, Jonathan Rumiguano,  Santiago Silva, David Vásconez, Cristian Vasconez , Anthony Vegas,  Cristhian Vega, Freddy  Veloz, Víctor Villavicencio, Xavier Zumárraga.
