The university regularly carries out human and social development projects in different vulnerable areas within the country. The projects are organized by the pastoral department and supported by professors, administrative staff and students.
 
During the month of August, different projects were carried out in 30 communities located in Morona Santiago. 140 students took part in the projects which benefited around 1950 children, 1700 teenagers and 5400 adults. Some of the activities that were held were:
 
- Workshop: Mechanical maintenance  
 
- Workshop: Automobile repairs
 
- Workshop: Computer maintenance
 
- Workshop: Leadership and citizen participation
 
- Implementation of water purifiers
 
- Talks on family education
 
- Summer camp
 
- Course on SMEs and family businesses
 
- Language and motor skills for school children
 
- First aid course
