Students majoring in environmental and industrial engineering in our branch campus in Guayaquil took part in the campaign titled "Plant a tree, plant life" which is carried out by the Ministry of the Environment along with other institutions. The aim of the campaign is to care for the environment, preserve and recover native species in several parts of Ecuador.

30 students participated in this activity which took place in "isla Santay". "This activity allows us, future engineers, to learn about the reality and provide solutions to climate changes", said Dingler Vasquez, environmental engineering students.

Hands on practice is fundamental for students' integral development and these activities are aimed showing students the reality of their profession. "it is important to create awareness on environmental care and have students be in contact with nature and reduce environmental impacts", said Carmen Palacios, director of the environmental engineering undergraduate program. 
At the end, students received a recognition from representatives of the Ministry of the Environment.
