About 1000 people (students and alumni from Universidad Politecnica Salesiana - UPS) attended the 6th edition of the job fair held in our branch campus in Guayaquil, which is aimed at bringing students closer to public and private companies. 45 companies attended this years job fair.

"These events are important because once students finish their undergraduate programs, like in my case, it is difficult to find a job because there are not too many vacancies available. it is good that the university is concerned about its students and alumni who are interested in finding a job", said Raul Unda, UPS alumni.

To make interviews easier, at the time students registered for the event they had to write down their major, if they were looking for a permanent or part time job, or for internships. "The interviews were organized for different times according to the undergraduate program", said Wendy Luna, director of the community engagement department.

The organizers said the activity is also aimed at having company representatives know the university premises, its infrastructure and professional profiles of students. Andres Bayolo, vice president of our branch campus in Guayaquil, said "I believe in being able to put knowledge into practice, in our laboratories students complement their studies and become complete professionals."

Before holding the job fair, the university carried out the event titled "Business Tour" which enabled 22 public and private companies to visit our university and take a tour of all its facilities. This activity was suggested by the community engagement department in order to create institutional agreements that will benefit our students. "It is the first time we participate in the job fair and it is interesting because you can see the relationship between companies, students and the university. We always receive CVs, check them, but we have never had this type of direct contact with universities and I believe it is very interesting", said Adriana Vasconez, representative of Mall del Sol.

Our university seeks to create opportunities for students and alumni to interact with companies so they can find a job. "These events interest everyone, it is not easy for students to meet company representatives, I congratulate the university for giving us this opportunity", said Ivan Barba, industrial engineering student.
