During the Americas Conference held in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Universidad Politecnica Salesiana's branch campus of Guayaquil was awarded the Facilitation Impact Award (FIA) for being part of the project: "Strengthening our image and identity – Somos la Salesiana" in charge of the consulting company D&E Asesoria.

To implement the project, the company provided advice on the design, definition of agreements, deliverables, actions and roles together with the Continuous Improvement Committee of the university. They also worked on the development of strategic workshops with University officials, defining appropriate methodologies to build a "pooling" with the aim of achieving an improvement in operational processes, optimizing the performance of the staff, achieving synergy throughout the organization and sustainable results.

There was very positive cooperation from the university's officials, professors, administrative and service staff in Guayaquil. "The objective was to promote the -Great Purpose-, the sense of belonging and institutional pride," said Beccy Torres, representative of D&E Asesoría.

The results of the work carried out by D&E Asesoría company were:

• The number of parents and teens who selected UPS as their first choice increased by 20%
