As part of the 2019 external evaluation process for the accreditation of universities and polytechnic schools carried out by the Quality Assurance in Higher Education Council (CACES for its acronym in Spanish), UPS president Javier Herrán and the coordinator of the evaluation committee Michel Vargas along with Ulbio Sotomayor, CACES technician, signed a record of the visit.

The on-site visit was carried out according to the agenda agreed on between the two offices and with due cooperation from officials and members of the university community. "We thank UPS for their work in this process of collecting information. Without it, it would not be possible to have successful evaluation processes," said Kintia Moreno, an advisor of CACES.

In the stage of institutional evaluation, the committee conducted interviews with University officials, as well as administrative staff, teachers and students to know in depth the work that is carried out in the institution

Javier Herran said "the country aims at development through community, by understanding that coexistence and science improve people's quality of life. Our commitment is to provide society everything it expects from us. Nationwide there are 26,000 of us who do their best not to build the future, but to build the present".

Vargas thanked everyone in the university for their work and support during this process. "UPS works according to its educational model, mission and vision", he said.
