An agreement which will enable the implementation of fiber optic network
The university's branch campus in Cuenca and Telecomunicaciones del Austro (TelecomAustro) signed an agreement that will enable students to carry out internships and pre professional practices in this company.
The agreement derives from the research project conducted by the Telecommunications and Telematics Research Group (GITEL): "Performance simulation and analysis of the optical channel using WDM, OTDM and OCDM hybrid systems in Optsim and MATLAB" which is a work that will place fiber optic network around the campus in Cuenca.
This network is intended for research and practical learning for students, where TelecomAustro will provide support and certification for the construction and operation of the network, project and thesis under the direction of Professor Jonathan Coronel.
The vice president of the university's campus in Cuenca, Fernando Moscoso, was pleased with the signing of the agreement because it will allow Electronic Engineering students to have real experience outside the classroom and laboratories. He thanked the company manager for agreeing to be part of this agreement.
Javier Martínez, General Manager of TelecomAustro, said it is important for his company to help students in their education in a practical work environment where they will find countless difficulties, which are not found in classrooms
