UPS professors and students presented their research at the 22nd Bioengineering Congress in Uruguay

Students and professors from the Biomedical Engineering Research Group (GIIB for its acronym in Spanish) presented their research at 22nd Bioengineering Congress (SABI 2020) in Piriapolis, Uruguay.

The congress was attended by professionals from Brazil, Argentina, Italy and Chile; representatives from our university learned more about new advances in the field of biomedicine and also did some networking with people from different universities looking for future cooperation that will strengthen biomedicine in Universidad Politecnica Salesiana.

Ronny Tituana, Santiago Feicán, Santiago Tenesaca and Cesar Saquicela (Students) and professors Ana Cecilia Villa, John Calle, Fernando Urgilés and Teodiano Freire presented the following research:

• "Validación cinemática y cinética de un exoesqueleto de extremidades inferiores mediante simulación computaciones" 

• "Study and development of controllers for integration in hand prostheses" 

• "Algorithm for measuring plantar soft tissue deformation based on ultrasound images" 

• "Proposal of Control of an Active Knee Orthosis Through Trunk Muscles"
